A nun and a priest were stranded in the desert after their camel died.

The priest looked toward the horizon.

“Sister, we’re not likely to make it.”

The nun nodded.

“We need a miracle.”

The priest suddenly had an idea.

“Sister, I may know a way to save us.”

She looked hopeful.

“How?”

He pointed toward a distant ridge.

“If we can reach that hill, we might be able to see the road.”

The nun smiled.

“So that’s your big plan?”

“Exactly.”

They gathered what little water they had left and began walking.

After several exhausting hours, they finally reached the top.

The nun suddenly shouted,

“Father! Look!”

In the distance was a highway.

And beside it stood a large sign:

REST STOP — 2 MILES

The priest dropped to his knees.

“Praise be!”

The nun laughed.

“We’re saved!”

They started walking again.

After a few minutes, the priest looked at her.

“You know, Sister…”

“Yes?”

“I was beginning to think we’d never make it.”

She smiled.

“Never lose faith, Father.”

He nodded.

“Or directions.”

And the nun replied,

“Especially directions.”
